Ashis Shrestha is Co-founder of Biratnagar Cricket Club and Academy who holds MBA degree from Sydney, Australia. He has more than 10 years cricketing experience in Sydney, Australia where he played club level Grading game in Sydney representing Sagarmatha cricket club, Sydney, Australia. While in Nepal Ashis played numerous cricket tournament participating school tournaments, college tournament, Club level matches and Puruwanchal University Cup. He played for Morang U-15 team while in Nepal.
He is passionate about cricket since childhood and aims to uplift the cricket of Biratnagar and help young cricketers fulfill their dream as well providing quality cricket training, world-class cricketing infrastructure, and opportunity to learn from experts in the field of cricket through a fun and innovative environment.
He has worked in the position of manager, event organizer and have strong connection with player’s agencies promoting cricket in Australia.
Abhishek Shrestha: Operations Director
Abhishek is a climate change professional who has taken different role throughout his career, worked as a climate activist, researcher, teaching professional, campaigner, Program Manager and community Organizer. Shrestha was awarded Prestigious Chevening Scholars by the UK Government in 2012 to pursue his Masters in Climate Change and Policy at University of Sussex, UK. He Completed his undergraduate in Bsc. Environmental Science from Kathmandu University in 2008. In 5th June 2017 on the occasion of the World Environment Day, he was awarded the Climate Change Award 2017 from Rt. Honourable President of Nepal. Shrestha in 2017 received “Jaycees Samman 2018” from Biratnagar Jaycees for his contribution to Environmental Sustainability. He has been following United Nations Climate Change Conference since 2009 as youth representative, Civil Society representative and Government Delegates.
He has travelled over 20 countries in Asia, Europe, Africa, South America and North America. He is serving as a General Secretary- Chevening Alumni Association of Nepal.
Shrestha started following cricket from 1992 World Cup Cricket final when he was 7. He was born and brought up in Biratnagar, where he played most of his cricket and captained school, club and Birat Science Inter college winning team in 2002. He also played for Kathmandu University Cricket team from 1st year.
He always dreamt of playing at English ground since childhood, playing in England was his childhood dream come true.He played as a registered international player under English and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and played for one of the oldest cricket Club in the world, Firle Cricket Club, founded in 1758. While in the UK, he also played for the University of Sussex, Men’s First Cricket team.
Abhishek led the Cricket for Equality project in 2017 , 2018 and 2019 in Biratnagar, which was jointly organized by Connecting Clubs International, UK and Nepal Cricket Foundation. Shrestha also serves as Executive Director for Nepal Cricket Foundation.
